Q-Park are delighted to work with AXA on a powerful new initiative to help 51% of women struggling with their mental health.
In a powerful new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, AXA today announced a unique partnership with Q-Park to offer women across Ireland 51 minutes of free parking on Friday, 8th August, at 22 Q-Park car parks nationwide. The initiative is designed to give women a small but meaningful window of time to breathe, reset, and focus on their mental wellbeing - at no cost.
The campaign is grounded in compelling new research by AXA, which reveals that 51% of women in Ireland today are negatively impacted by mental health issues (AXA Mind Health Report, Ireland, 2024). In response, AXA is inviting women to use this 51-minute time-out however they choose - whether it’s grabbing a quiet coffee, going shopping, catching up with a friend, or simply taking a breather in their car to decompress.
“Sometimes, a short pause is all it takes to reset. Our research shows that mental health pressures are an everyday reality for over half the women in Ireland,” said Elizabeth Arnett, Director of Brand and Communications at AXA Ireland. “We wanted to create something that feels simple, human, and helpful. By covering 51 minutes of parking, we’re encouraging women to carve out a little space in their day - space for themselves.”
The partnership also encourages women to use the time to check in on their mental wellbeing through the AXA Mind Health Self-Check, a free, clinically-backed tool available online at mindhealthselfcheck.axa.com.
John Denton, Director of Commercial at Q-Park UK and Ireland, commented: “We’re proud to work with AXA on this innovative initiative. Our car parks are conveniently located in city centres and key locations across Ireland, which makes it easy for women to take time out of their day for themselves. Whether it’s meeting a friend, taking time for a quiet coffee, or simply enjoying a peaceful moment to yourself, we’re glad to help make that possible.”
This initiative forms part of AXA’s broader commitment to supporting health and wellbeing in Ireland. Following AXA’s acquisition of laya healthcare in 2023, the organisation is deepening its role in helping people proactively manage both their physical and mental health—through prevention, protection, and care.
