Q-Park & Toyota Team Up to Create Hybrid-Only Parking Spaces

Priority parking for self-charging hybrid cars.

Q-Park is proud to announce a new partnership with Toyota which allows all drivers of self-charging hybrids to take advantage of priority parking in four Q-Park car parks around the country.

In what is a first for Ireland, from today Toyota and Q-Park’s partnership provides for two parking bays in four locations to be exclusively available for self-charging hybrid cars. The spaces are conveniently placed in proximity to exits, alongside other priority spaces for parents and babies.

Supporting the Built For A Better World brand promise, Toyota is constantly looking for ways to make life better for families in Ireland, from up to 40% better fuel economy than conventional cars and 30% less maintenance costs, these parking bays are just one more way to make life easier for families.  Drivers don’t even need to drive a Toyota as long as it’s a self-charging hybrid car.

Toyota’s hybrid only parking bays are currently located in the following Q-Park locations:

•          St. Stephen’s Green – Dublin

•          Clerys - Dublin

•          Grand Parade – Cork

•          Harvey’s Quay - Limerick

In addition to these reserved parking spaces, hybrid driving Q-Park customers can already save 25% on the standard annual Q-Park Premium Card by availing of the Unlimited Hybrid Premium Card.

Mark Howard, Country Director at Q-Park Ireland said, “As part of our corporate social responsibility programme, and our goal to support and encourage responsible, greener driving, we are always consciously looking into innovative ways to improve our parking facilities and services. When Toyota approached us with the idea of hybrid-only parking spaces it was a natural fit for us and we’re very happy to be on-board for this very unique initiative.”

Commenting on the partnership, Michael Gaynor, Marketing Director at Toyota said, “We’re delighted to partner with Q-Park to bring this added benefit to all drivers of self-charging hybrid cars. While hybrid is going from strength to strength, with 50% of Toyota sales in 2018 being hybrid, we need to continue to innovate and do everything we can to encourage the swift transition to alternative cleaner vehicles such a self-charging hybrid that are in electric mode up to 50% of the time. This partnership represents another step in the journey towards cleaner air for future generations.”
