Christmas in Galway
At the heart of Galway's festive celebrations is the popular Galway Christmas Market in Eyre Square. Traditional wooden chalets fill the square with artisan gifts, Christmas treats and seasonal food and drink, creating a lively festive atmosphere in the centre of the city.
Families can enjoy a range of seasonal attractions alongside the market, including the Big Wheel and traditional carousel, while festive entertainment and Christmas activities add to the atmosphere throughout the season. Visitors can also warm up with seasonal food and drinks while exploring the market.
Beyond Eyre Square, Galway's compact city centre makes it easy to continue exploring on foot. Wander along Shop Street and Quay Street, browse independent shops for Christmas presents or head into the Latin Quarter for restaurants, cafés, pubs and live entertainment surrounded by Galway's festive decorations.
