Q-Park donates €11,000 to the Mercy Hospital Cancer Appeal.
It is estimated that every 3 minutes in Ireland, someone is diagnosed with cancer. An average of over 40,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed each year. The Mercy Cancer Appeal is raising funds to develop The Mercy Cancer CARE Centre in Cork. The Mercy will be at the forefront of diagnosis, research, treatment and care.
The centre will provide a quiet, safe haven for patients and families to help support them throughout their cancer diagnosis and to receive ongoing support during their cancer journey through one-to-one support, peer-group sessions with a survivorship programme, psycho-oncology services, patient support groups and bereavement counselling in a non-clinical and relaxed environment, where patient-centred and patient-directed care is at the core.
Q-Park and The Mercy Hospital understand that the last thing patients and visitors need to worry about when attending a hospital appointment or visiting a loved one is trying to source parking. With this in mind, Q-Park partnered with the Mercy Hospital Cork to offer 24 hour, discounted parking for patients and visitors, and to donate €1 back for every person that parks through the partnership.
"Thanks to Q-Park, people can now find affordable, convenient parking within walking distance of the Mercy Hospital whilst helping to raise funds for the Cancer CARE Centre. On behalf of myself and everybody in the Mercy Hospital Foundation, we would like to offer our sincere thanks to Q-Park and we look forward to working together over the coming year." -Michelle Murphy, Mercy University Hospital Foundation
To date, Q-Park have donated over €25,000 to the Mercy Foundation as part of our ongoing partnership, with our most recent donation going towards The Mercy Cancer Appeal.
