Q-Park support retail industry to safely return to work

Q-Park are delighted to announce that following consultation with the Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, the introduction of a new Retail Staff parking incentive which heavily discounts the cost of parking for those retail workers within the Stephen’s Green shopping centre.

With the lockdown easing in Ireland. the official advice which was announced by the Government was to avoid public transport where possible in order to adhere to social distancing rules. This guideline provided a real obstacle for those retail workers who travel by public transport to work and also to the retail industry in general who are eager to open up their doors but also want to protect their staff. To help support the retail industry Q-Park devised a tailormade solution to assist retail staff in Liverpool and further afield.

Q-Park created a €5 Retail Staff Top Up Card so employees of the shopping centre are able to travel by car for a similar cost to public transport. In addition the user can also receive 10% cashback via the Q-Park Rewards app just by registering their bank card. With safety in mind, the parker simply taps their card to enter and exit the car park and €5 is then deducted from the credit each day. The card can then be topped up at the pay station.

John Denton, Head of Sales and Marketing and Q-Park commented ‘We are delighted to be able to assist our key stakeholders at Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre in being able to relaunch their retail operation and keep everybody safe. We are speaking with a number of different partners across Ireland to replicate this great initiative.’

Retail workers at Stephen’s Green can access the discount by following the unique link that has been emailed to stores or on the posters that are up in all staff areas of their stores.
